Public Radio Community Service Grants
- CPB is opening an application window to consider new station applicants to its Community Service Grant (CSG) program, and is prepared to allow 15 new entrants into the program in FY 2007 (beginning October 1, 2006).
2006 Digital Radio Conversion Fund
- The CPB Board has approved an allocation of $13 million to fund the Fiscal Year 2006 Digital Radio Conversion fund.
Station Renewal Project: Station Participation
- CPB Radio believes public radio can significantly increase its overall levels of public service by materially improving the performance of key underperforming stations. Stations with a vision of providing greater public service to their communities will have the opportunity to participate in a CPB-funded, two-phase grant program designed to help them reach their potential. At CPB's discretion, this grant program will make available meaningful resources to stations with realistic potential for substantial improvement.
Radio Major Market Service Extension Project
- CPB Radio seeks proposals from major market stations for bold programming, development, distribution and other activities. Awards will be based on potential service improvement and ability to achieve other priorities such as increased service to underserved audiences.
2007 CPB/Emma Bowen Foundation Studentship Grants
- CPB recognizes the importance of attracting talent to public broadcasting and cultivating the range of voices, backgrounds, cultures, and ideas within the industry. Accordingly, CPB has developed two work/study scholarship programs (a three year program that engages students year-round and a 5 year summer-only program) through the Emma Bowen Foundation, an organization that facilitates minority student placements within the media industry.
Partnership for a Nation of Learners Community Collaboration Grant
- Funds collaboration and shared resources that enable partners to meet clearly defined needs for one or more audience segments within their local communities.
2006 CPB/Emma Bowen Foundation Summer Internship Grant Program
- Grants of up to $2,000 per internship salary per summer will be awarded on a 50% station matching basis.
