Small Station Training Scholarships

The scholarship program is intended to support and extend training beyond a public television station's normal training capacity; enabling station management and staff to access more training and professional development opportunities than the stations training budget would normally support. The use of the funds are outlined in guidelines focused on supporting station training efforts based on CPB’s Dialogue, Digital and Diversity priorities. The scholarships are reimbursable up to $1,500 for qualifying conference travel to the PBS Technology and PBS Development conferences.

Please see the Small Station Training Scholarship Criteria for detailed information regarding history of the program, types of training, and the application process.

Selection Criteria

Scholarships will be awarded based on whether the training makes a direct connection to the stated individual and public television station goals and objectives, and the likelihood that the training will garner the desired anticipated and stated outcomes. Applications will be reviewed and results will be communicated via e mail. Official notification and approval must be received in advance of training for reimbursement. Each public television station is allowed to apply for up to 2 scholarships at a time. No scholarships will be awarded to stations with outstanding reimbursement requests.
