UPTV Station Manager
City of Urbana (UPTV)
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for coordination, administration and development of cable television programming for Urbana city government, education and public access. This includes coordination and supervision of staff and volunteers, and day to day operations of community wide cable television programming.
The UPTV Station Manager works with Information Systems (IS) Manager and provides routine guidance to the Document Technician to improve records management through scanning and other technologies and on-line maintenance of the City document data base.
The UPTV Station Manager also works with the IS Manager and provides routine guidance to the Web Documents Coordinator who maintains information on the City of Urbana’s web site and provides general web site support to city employees.
Minimum Qualifications (include but are not limited to):
--Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or another related field, plus 3-5 years experience in same or comparable field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience in related field.
--Knowledge of federal, state and local television production codes; considerable knowledge of laws, ordinances and regulation governing cable television.
--Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission laws and guidelines.
--Knowledge of non-linear, video streaming, compression techniques, multimedia presentation and all aspects of digital production.
--Must possess or obtain a valid Illinois driver’s license within 15 working days of hire.
--Experience with Drupal content management system is helpful but not required.
