Fishery Reporter

The Fishery Reporter’s main task is to oversee the weekly production of the Bristol Bay Fisheries Report, a fifteen minute news programs dedicated to the latest events in the very active Bristol Bay Salmon Fishery. Duties will include gathering, writing and producing both hard news and feature stories on both daily and weekly deadlines. The reporter will also regularly meet with members of the news staff to pitch stories and refine ideas. Additionally, the position will require some in-region travel to remote fishing communities to bring our listeners firsthand accounts from the fishing season as it unfolds from the entire Bristol Bay region.
We are looking for the adventurous candidate with at least one year of experience in radio journalism or equivalent work. Reporting experience on Alaska fisheries is preferred. This is a 3 month job and will start on the 17th of May.
