Purpose
The My Source Education Innovation Awards are designed to recognize and showcase examples of how local public media organizations are using innovative approaches and emerging digital technologies to serve the educational needs of their communities. CPB will honor awardees at the 2010 Council of Chief State School Officers/Public Media Executive Summit on March 20, 2010 in Washington DC.
Review Process and Criteria
Submissions will be reviewed by a panel comprising public broadcasting professionals who have experience in education, content production, community engagement and other disciplines. The criteria will include how your station:
- Provided an innovative educational service to a Title 1 or low performing school
- Used new technology or media to improve teacher effectiveness
- Aligned educational content with state curriculum standards
- Helped gather data on student skill or proficiency in a given subject
- Partnered with a formal or informal education agency
Award Notifications
Awardees will be notified by Friday, February 26, 2009, so that they can make travel plans for the 2010 Council of Chief State School Officers/Public Media Executive Summit, to be held in downtown Washington, DC on March 20, 2010. Awardees will be recognized at a dinner that evening.
Eligibility and Submissions
All CSG-eligible radio, joint and TV licensees may apply. Joint licensee stations may apply separately. Each station may submit up to three applications. Note that entries from all types and sizes of stations will be judged by the same criteria.
