Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Radio Operations & Production Coordinator works with the Announcer/Broadcast Producer Manager and other station staff to provide regular, high-quality, original Radio Catskill -produced audio content.
This position maintains the automation and playout system of Radio Catskill, the Zetta database, and produces spots and imaging for air on Radio Catskill. This position also helps record/edit/mix interviews and/or performances for broadcast and web distribution.
This is a part-time, FLSA classified non-exempt position, which is eligible for overtime. The position reports directly to the Announcer/Broadcast Producer Manager.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Produce on-air spots (daily promos and imaging) for Radio Catskill, as assigned
- Participate in, or assist with on-air fund drives on Radio Catskill to ensure successful results
- Assist with the recording/editing/mixing of studio/field interviews and/or performances for broadcast and web distribution
- Acquire and load into playout system Radio Catskill locally produced programming, prepare files for air, inserting tags and segues
- Assist in ensuring the integrity and proper operation of the Radio Catskill Zetta automation systems & database
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues
- Be on call for any radio operational failures, as needed and requested
- Make public appearances at community events representing the station, as needed
- Additional radio operational, programming, or studio assistance, as needed

- Highly talented quick study of radio operations
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience in broadcasting, audio and multimedia production or a related field
- Demonstrated time management and technical skills
- Ability to periodically work on weekends, irregular hours, holidays, and as needed
- Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation and auto insurance required for assignments/activities that involve work outside of the office
BONUS IF YOU BRING:
- Experience working within the public radio system in an NPR-based station environment.
- Knowledge of Zetta or other radio automation systems .
- Familiarity with how non-commercial radio programming works
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Proven ability to work successfully as part of a team and collaborate with internal and external contacts
- Knowledge of FCC rules and requirements
SALARY RANGE
- $17 per hour
- 20 hours weekly
- Flexible schedule

- May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs
