This dynamic and impactful role serves as a bridge between Southern Arizona communities, stakeholders, and AZPM, ensuring that important events, local stories, cultural moments, and public affairs discussions are brought to a broader audience through high-quality, compelling content and engaging participant experiences. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities producing for multiple platforms (broadcast; radio; digital; social media; podcasts) and brings a strong passion for local storytelling.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with AZPM leadership to identify compelling topics and impactful projects for public and media presentation.

  • Serve as AZPM’s liaison to coordinate and support national, regional, and local conferences and training opportunities.
  • Lead logistical planning and production operations, including securing talent, venues, technical requirements, and event and production staffing.
  • Collaborate with content, news, production, and marketing teams to adapt live events into engaging content for broadcast, streaming, and social media, ensuring high production quality with technical staff.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet deadlines and strategic objectives.
  • Evaluate the success and impact of projects using audience metrics, community feedback, and media reach.
  • Represent AZPM at community meetings, industry conferences, and public events to build strong partnerships and foster audience engagement.
  • Work independently to deliver consistent, high-quality, accurate, fair, balanced, and professional content.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules, ensuring full coverage of community-focused productions.
  • Ability to travel to attend meetings, events, and productions throughout Southern Arizona.
  • Comfortable working in both office and field production environments, adapting seamlessly to different settings.
  • Willingness to drive UA/AZPM vehicles and transport talent, guests, and equipment to support production needs.
  • Strong editorial judgment with the ability to identify compelling stories and community-driven content opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including AZPM’s production and marketing staff, to develop and deliver impactful projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute multi-platform content strategies, including for television, radio, digital media, and social media.
  • Outstanding project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
