Job Description:


Secure corporate sponsorship to support the mission of Cascade Public Media, which is to inspire a smarter world. Sponsorship revenue supports the operations and programming of both KCTS 9 and Crosscut, local media organizations that provide award-winning journalism and valuable educational content to the Pacific Northwest community. Sponsorships may include unrestricted and restricted revenue as well as trade agreements.

Seattle, temporarily remote in Washington State


I. Develop Corporate Accounts

  1. Initiate, cultivate, and secure partnerships with companies and advertising agencies through outside sales tactics
  2. Research and analyze quantitative and qualitative data for TV and digital audience prospects and clients
  3. Create proposals and sponsorship packages
  4. Plan and conduct sales presentations
  5. Negotiate and finalize contracts
  6. Secure corporate sponsorships and meet or exceed revenue target

II. Manage

  1. Manage and grow ongoing client relationships
  2. Maintain up-to-date account and prospect information (including contact management information and affidavits)
  3. Enter account, contract, and media ID information into traffic and CRM system
  4. Ensure spots air as ordered, digital ads are served, sponsorships activated, and sponsored content published to provide optimal client service

III. Collaborate

  1. Coordinate payment schedules with Accounts Receivable
  2. Work with Production, Design, and clients to produce TV spots and digital ads
  3. Provide Traffic with necessary information needed for scheduling spots and digital ads
  4. Plan and conduct team sales calls including staff from Underwriting and other departments as needed
  5. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice


  1. BA or equivalent experience required
  2. Three years’ media or business-to-business sales experience required
  3. Familiarity with event sponsorship and digital sponsorship sale preferred
  4. Experience in outside sales required
  5. Excellent presentation skills and proven sales ability required
  6. Must be comfortable with cold calls
  7. Ability to multi-task, troubleshoot and deal with deadlines required
  8. Established clients and/or contact list preferred
  9. A working knowledge of audience research, contact management and traffic systems preferred


  1. Ability to view data on a computer screen for long periods of time
  2. Ability to type on a keyboard for long periods of time
  3. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  4. Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Washington State drivers license. Automobile insurance required.
  5. Ability to work some evenings and weekends
