Job Description:

Contributes to Cascade Public Media’s digital technology team by completing development tasks for Swift-based mobile and over-the-top applications while demonstrating CPM’s values of integrity, community, innovation and diversity. 

Salary: $83,000 minimum - salary commensurate with experience

  • Ensure that non-functional requirements such as security,  performance, maintainability, usability and reliability are considered when  architecting solutions
  • Adhere to and establish where necessary coding standards and  organization
  • Write clear and coherent technical documentation
  • Build and maintain a variety of applications for mobile platforms and over-the-top devices
  • Maintain job knowledge by studying new development tools and programming techniques; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal and professional networks;  participating in professional organizations
  • Assist in the development and architecture of new product ideas and  strategies, recommending technical approaches (libraries, frameworks, etc.) as needed
  • Learn and work in new frameworks, languages and technologies as  needed
  • Work closely with the technology and design teams to create content-driven features, tools and projects
  • Keep teammates updated on task and project progress using collaboration tools (tickets, pull requests, internal communications, etc.)
  • Collaborate with other team members to foster a positive and  productive culture and contribute toward the overall growth of the CPM
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be  assigned at any time with or without notice 


  • Understanding of software engineering practices, object-oriented analysis & design, design patterns and algorithms preferred
  • Familiarity with API development and consumption preferred
  • Portfolio of digital projects required
  • Experience with Swift-based Apple (tvOS/iOS) platform development required
  • Experience with Android, Roku or Fire TV development a plus


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training or professional experience as an app developer required
  • Experience designing and developing mobile and/or over-the-top apps required
  • Ability to program in at least Swift and preferably other common app platform programming languages used in native mobile app development, such as Objective-C, Java, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and with short term, contractor development teams as needed
  • App developer certifications a plus


  • Ability to view data on a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Ability to regularly type on a keyboard 
  • Ability to work some evenings, weekends, holidays as needed
