Job Description:
The Gulf States Newsroom – a collaboration among public radio stations in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, plus National Public Radio (NPR) – is seeking an efficient, systems-oriented individual to assist with operations on the business side of this fast-paced regional newsroom.
This role is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, maintaining the budget and reporting for this grant-funded collaboration, overseeing reimbursements through the University of Alabama-Birmingham’s Oracle system, working with the business officers of partner radio stations and NPR, collaborating with staff to prepare financial reports for funders, assisting with calculations and narratives for grant proposals, and managing multiple projects. Must have experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
The job will also involve scheduling of interviews and other HR tasks, assisting with events, and organizing travel and logistics for reporting trips and meetings. Must have excellent communication skills and enjoy collaboration within this close-knit team.
Salary Range: $41,175 - $55,000

Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
