Houston Public Media is hiring a General Assignments reporter to join its radio and digital news team. Help us cover the fourth largest city in the country, where breaking news, national stories and regional trends dominate the headlines. 
 
This role is open to early to mid-career journalists who can demonstrate a strong track record of writing for digital platforms as well as willingness to produce audio stories. The right candidate can craft a good pitch and work quickly to report out the story. Breaking news will be a key part of the job, so prepare to think on your feet.  
 
Radio reporting and production skills are preferred, but not required. This position will primarily report on digital platforms, but may file radio stories a few times per week.
