Description of Work
The Major and Planned Giving Officer is responsible for identifying and securing local and regional major and planned gifts and grants in support of the Nebraska Public Media Foundation by identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewardship of major donors and planned gifts. The primary duties of this role will include: Develop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for a portfolio of donors. Create and implement strategies for donor qualification. Prepare written proposals, informational materials, endowment agreements, and gift illustrations. Maintain a working knowledge of planned gift vehicles and contribute to strategies that support planned gift fundraising. Assist the Director of Major and Planned Giving and the Chief Strategy Officer in department activities to attain foundation goals and participate in organization planning and development. This role requires an ability and willingness to travel in-state. Remote or hybrid work arrangements will be considered.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, journalism, marketing, communications or related field plus three (3) years’ experience in non-profit fundraising, development or sales; equivalent education/experience considered. Knowledge of marketing, development, and project management. Skill and ability to promote the benefits of investing in Nebraska Public Media and public media to individuals with the capacity to give a major gift. Ability to work with diverse constituencies. Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communications skills essential. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidate will have experience in public broadcasting and familiarity of donor management software.
