Job Description:
The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority announces the opening of the position titled Multi-Media Journalist for the News and Public Affairs Department in Oklahoma City. Applications will be taken until the position is filled. The most qualified candidate(s) will be contacted for an interview.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
This position is responsible for general assignment, television news reporting for OETA’s weekly news program, the Oklahoma News Report as a Multi-Media Journalist. Primary responsibilities include:
●Produce a 5 - 6 minute news package weekly
●Identify and research issues-oriented story ideas that impacts citizens
●Schedule and Conduct On-Camera Interviews
●Shoot interviews and B-Roll using Sony XD Cam 4K
●Write Script and input script in the AP ENPS System
●Edit story for broadcast on AVID editing system
●Knowledge of State Governmental and Tribal affairs a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field required along with experience in reporting, writing, shooting video, and editing. Must be able to take personal initiative to develop stories that are consistent with the mission of the OETA News and Public Affairs Department and the Agency strategic plan. Must possess strong reporting, critical thinking, teamwork, and interpersonal skills and also be able to work independently and meet deadlines. The chosen candidate must be a positive representative of OETA to the public and colleagues.

Compensation
$35,000 to $40,000 per year. Plus benefits package
