Job Description:

The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority announces the opening of the position titled Vice President of Education in Oklahoma City. Applications will be taken until position is filled. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This senior administrative position is to lead the agency in developing and administering a dynamic educational outreach plan and to conduct and implement agency planning and policies. OETA serves pre-K through 12th grade students and college telecourse students by providing curriculum-based programs. The state-wide network also offers adult life-long learning opportunities. Emerging technologies via OETA’s digital broadcast spectrum will expand such services as datacasting and video-on-demand. This position works closely with the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Public Broadcasting Service Education Dept, the Oklahoma Regents for Higher Education and the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education. The Vice President’s position includes education related activities that involve long-range planning, funding proposal preparation, and budgeting to ensure that Oklahomans have access to OETA’s educational services. This position answers to OETA’s Executive Director.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A seasoned and experienced professional with a minimum of 10 years of increasingly successful educational administration and outreach activities, especially centered on telecommunications. Proven abilities with written and verbal communications, organizational skills including a mastery of multiple task activities with significant attention to details, and advanced skills in building personal, one-on-one relationships and effective interpersonal relations. K-12 classroom experience is a plus.

 

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required. Post-graduate degree desired. Computer skills including database and management skills are important. Some statewide travel will be required.

 

COMPENSATION:

Salary up to $75,000. A generous benefit package including health, leave, retirement plus much more is included.
