The HR Generalist at RMPM will be instrumental in the furthering of organization-wide programs, strategies, and goals as they relate to our people, culture, and business. They will work closely with the VP of HR to ensure that essential HR-related tasks are completed in support of larger HR operations as a whole, as well as play a critical role in tackling strategic HR programs. The ideal candidate for this role is reliable, organized, forward-thinking, and committed to the ever-evolving world of HR.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Supports the VP of HR in educating employees and/or reinforcing organizational policies and procedures.

  • Stewards employees through HR questions and issues, treats every interaction as an opportunity to help the "internal customer", and refers more complex or sensitive issues to the VP.

  • Administers the recruitment function including but not limited to posting jobs, screening and sourcing candidates, reference checking, and coaching hiring managers through the processes. Tracks the status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruitment process.

  • Leads implementation of new HRIS, generating reports for data migration, performing testing, and helping to design the system interface

  • Implements new hire onboarding strategies and partners with other HR and/or cross-departmental team members to deliver an exceptional first-week orientation experience.

  • Administers onboarding paperwork and keeps systems, lists, and documents up to date with new staff members.

  • Responsible for the employee offboarding process, from coordinating IT to drafting separation agreements

  • Responsible for managing updates and changes to the employee handbook.

  • Conducts and documents employee exit interviews.

  • Responsible for writing and designing an internal communications plan pertaining to staff changes, new hires, departures, and organizational shifts.

  • Assists with coordination and data analysis of employee engagement surveys and activities; helps give actionable insights to improve employee experience.

  • Coaches supervisors in performance management procedures and best practices. Performs administration, analysis, and reporting of the performance management platform.

  • Drafts offer letters, promotion letters, and/or separation agreements for review

  • Maintains the site content and visual design of the HR intranet page as well as the organizational chart.

  • Assists VP with writing, coordinating, and delivering learning and development training opportunities across the organization

  • Maintains and updates HR training guides.

  • Designs and curates monthly HR Newsletter.

  • Generates reports and completes data analysis for FCC compliance and grant requirements

  • Schedules and attends at least 3 career fairs annually.

  • Supports organizational DEI efforts as they relate to HR (i.e. policies, trainings, culture, etc.) and models values that will help us foster a welcoming and inclusive workplace, establish accountability, and support our overall mission and community.

  • Actively participates in RMPM's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training program. Uses key standards and teachings of DEI training in day-to-day work.

  • Other tasks or ad-hoc HR projects as assigned and/or required.

 

Minimum Qualifications of Position

  • 3-5 years of related HR experience required.

  • PHR or SHRM-CP credential preferred.

  • Strong HRIS experience preferred.

  • Working understanding of HR best practices in functional areas such as employment law, regulatory compliance, employee relations, FLSA, employee health & safety, performance management, and more.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and absolute confidentiality.

  • Exceptional productivity, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated awareness of global and cultural issues; ability to understand multiple cultural and community perspectives. Utilizes these perspectives to ensure all staff feel valued, and inclusive and equitable practices are embedded in the organizational culture at large.

  • This position works primarily in office and/or field environments. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule with occasionally long hours including some evenings and weekends.
