The Director of TV directs and manages the SCETV programming, production, transparency, and lead the TV Content teams in building strategy and implementing departmental goals. Planning and creating programs, series, and special projects that meet professional broadcast industry standards. The Incumbent will maximize the content of programming and media products by conforming to quality, performance and technical criteria established by SCETV. Successful candidates will retain, and advance content and technical skills required to complete (CCO) project production in a competitive, rapidly changing broadcast environment.
Report and work with the CCO to oversee production, tv content, and programming. Manages local television- internal and external- projects. Partner with the production team to create original, broadcast quality content (programs, series, and special projects) from concept to delivery. Skills include the ability to perform in-depth research, proposal and script writing, story development, and to assist in the creation of content for any related educational and promotional piece(s). Provides advice and counsel to staff submitting grant application for project funding. Conveys concept and goals to all staff to accomplish project. Operates production equipment as necessary.
Assure network special interest programming objectives are met in a measurable, cost-effective manner.
Execute technical post-production of programs that includes editing or supervising editing through all aspects (logging, off-line, graphics development). Deliver programs on deadline that meet established technical and aesthetic standards. Have working knowledge of edit software for Avid and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
Perform as a technical director to other directors in the agency on studio and remote productions. Be on a standby schedule live shots and events in quick response studio. This schedule will include nights and weekends.
Collaborate with IT and Engineering to future proof the network from a technology standpoint and pursue vigorously multiple training opportunities (self-motivated and/or formal sessions) to augment or increase technical expertise on equipment considered essential knowledge for completion of primary tasks. Once expertise has been achieved, they will train production staff and production coordinators, if requested by senior management.
- Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and experience or additional education in production of television programs.
