Job Description:
Vermont Public is seeking a sharp, talented reporter to build a family-first education and youth beat.
Areas of coverage could include: school infrastructure development, child care, education-related policy in the Vermont Legislature, school consolidation, curriculum development, teacher retention and well-being, higher education and the pandemic achievement gap. This reporter would also report on and with young Vermonters, helping to elevate their voices on our platforms. This is a key role in reaching our strategic goals as an organization including growing the number of 18-to-45-year-olds that engage with Vermont Public’s content.
This position may be located anywhere in Vermont; seeking those interested in reporting outside of Chittenden County near one of our studios in Norwich, Montpelier or Brattleboro.
Experience with audio-based journalism is a plus, but not required. This is a full-time salary-exempt position; compensation ranges from$67,000-76,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education related to the role.
