Operations Manager
WRTI 90.1 FM seeks an Operations Manager to join our broadcast team.
The WRTI Operations Manager oversees the station's daily on-air technical operation in collaboration with programming and engineering management. The Operations Manager manages the automation system for live and unattended programs, ensuring the delivery of programming as well as sponsor, partner, and public service messages. The position is responsible for the on-air production of station programs and the training of on-air personnel in the proper operation of audio equipment. This position reports to the Director of Technology and Engineering and is part of a team committed to continuous improvement in our broadcast processes and infrastructure.

Essential Functions
*Provides support and assistance for daily station and program operations.
*Programs and maintains on-air digital and broadcast automation systems for WRTI-FM and WRTI-HD2 program schedules.
*Ensures that all studio broadcast equipment is functioning properly, works with the Engineering team to address any issues, and supports regular equipment maintenance and repairs.
*Surveys equipment and solutions needs and researches and recommends new integrations, replacements, and upgrades to maintain and improve broadcast programming operations.
*Troubleshoots any non-routine situations related to on-air delivery or broadcast equipment with support from Engineering.
*Trains on-air hosts and non-host studio operators in studio and equipment operation, including updating the operator’s manual with new or updated procedures.
*Monitors broadcast operations and troubleshoots when programming is interrupted.
*Oversees playlist reporting and acts as the liaison to the reporting service provider(s).
*Oversees daily ingestion of music and traffic logs into the automation system.
*Oversees technical requirements and implementation for remote broadcasts, on-air fundraising, and other special events.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
*Provides systems analysis and solutions, and coordination and technical support of all areas of on-air operations.
*Acts as backup and support for key station and program operations during attended and unattended operations.
*Provides technical support and assistance to national and international programming organizations as required.
*Serves as backup to the Assistant Director of Production and may periodically serve as backup to the Director of Engineering and Technology.
*Trains and manages station board operators and serves as a fill-in board operator as needed.
*Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of directly related experience. A minimum of 2 years of direct radio operations experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred:
*Experience with automation systems, experience with WideOrbit, Music Master, and Wheatstone
Required skills and abilities:
*Must be able to respond when designated to be on call for the radio station.
Knowledge of radio organizational structures, workflows, systems, and operating procedures.
*Familiarity with F.C.C. rules and regulations.
*Familiarity with broadcasting equipment and systems.
*Strong computer and information system skills.
*Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
*Excellent written and oral communication skills.
*Strong project management ability.
*Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects.
*Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills.
*Proficient in Microsoft office/G Suite.
*Must be able to maintain self-motivation, goal orientation, and creativity in a 24/7 radio station environment.
*Must have excellent "client service" related skills and ability.
*Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to operate independently in the performance of essential functions.
