Reports to: Chief Content Officer

Supervises: The audience engagement team including the Social Media Editor; Newsletter and Outreach Editor and Video Promotions Producer.

Exempt / Non Exempt: Exempt

Basic Function: The Audience Engagement Manager is a new role and part of a new team at Rhode Island PBS. Audience Engagement will be responsible for increasing the visibility of our work and deepening the connections with our community.

The Audience Engagement Manager is a creative force and a skilled diplomat with the ability to translate strategy into efficient sustainable workflows, and creative ideas into strong multiplatform campaigns. The person in this role will work across the organization to increase engagement with our content, drive membership growth, and increase the visibility of our education services community outreach initiatives.

Specific Duties (including but not limited to):

 Guiding the efforts of the entire Audience Engagement Team.
 Creating strong working partnerships with colleagues across the organization including those creating content, fundraising, and providing educational services.
 Directing the overall audience engagement yearly campaign calendar. Will be responsible for coordinating both paid and organic campaigns.
 Using data to guide decision-making. The Audience Engagement Manager is expected to acquire a strong working knowledge of our analytics dashboards and data sources and regularly share key data with colleagues.
 Continually learning about new digital marketing methods and opportunities to share the mission and work of Rhode Island PBS.
 Writing and producing as needed to move key initiatives forward.

Education / Experience / Qualifications:

 Minimum of eight years working in media marketing.
 Knowledge of and appreciation for the role of public media in our community.
 Strong video production experience.
 Proven skills in promotional scriptwriting, social media distribution and writing for digital newsletters.
 Ability to collaborate, coach and communicate new ideas and processes to an internal audience.
