WUWM is seeking an experienced interviewer and producer for Lake Effect. Lake Effect is a four day a week program and podcast from WUWM-Milwaukee’s NPR that brings local conversations about the people, places and organizations that shape Milwaukee to the community. The producer will be involved in all aspects of show production. They will conduct interviews on a variety of topics from current events to arts, and human interest. The candidate will need to be able to engage with the Milwaukee community on a regular basis  

Specific duties include-

· Schedule and conduct interviews from the home office, in studio and on location

· Produce story ideas and interview subjects that fit in with the theme and style of the program

· Prepare related material for the station’s website and social media

· Edit audio and program segments

· Represent WUWM at community and virtual events

· Participate in WUWM fundraising campaigns and activities

· Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree OR 3 years of professional work experience
• 1 year in journalism or related field
• Audio editing experience
• Broadcast writing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years in journalism or related field
• Experience conducting pre-recorded and live interviews
• Web posting experience
• Familiarity with Southeastern Wisconsin issues
• Knowledge of WUWM and/or public radio
• Experience working with colleagues or communities with a diverse array of perspectives
