ACORN and the Firestorm

This is a documentary about ACORN, the controversial community organizing group that fought to empower marginalized communities for 40 years. Its critics, however, believed ACORN promoted government waste and exemplified everything wrong with liberal ideals. The film unfolds through the perspectives of two women on opposite sides of the political spectrum, as well as through the eyes of ACORN staff. It premiered on PBS’s Independent Lens in May 2018.
