Fostering Civil Dialogue in Digital Spaces Pilot (KQED)

This grant supports experimental efforts at KQED to shift civil discussions held on legacy broadcast call-in programs to online platforms. KQED is recruiting a geographically, demographically, and ideologically diverse set of listeners of the daily call-in talk show Forum to participate in discussions using the social media app Discord, with the goal of developing best practices for establishing, moderating, and cultivating civil and informed digital dialogue. The pilot project is co-funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
