Journalism Collaboration: California Dream

This grant supported the launch of a journalism collaboration, formerly California Counts, among lead station Southern California Public Radio/KPCC, KQED/San Francisco, KPBS/San Diego, Capital Public Radio/Sacramento and the non-profit Sacramento-based newsroom CALmatters.org. This news service focuses on statehouse issues, economic opportunity, safety and quality of life, and the next California Dream. The KPCC-based senior editor guides nine reporters to produce high-impact enterprise stories for broadcast and/or digital coverage, social media engagement and long-form specials across platforms. Content is carried by station partners, shared through CALmatters’ print and broadcast media partnerships and nationally through public media.
