Journalism Collaboration: Elemental: Covering Sustainability

This grant supported the launch of a journalism collaboration, formerly called the Sustainability Regional Journalism Collaboration, focusing on water resources, renewable energy, climate change and urbanization. The collaboration is led by Arizona PBS at Cronkite School of Journalism and includes KJZZ/Phoenix, Rocky Mountain PBS, KPCC/Los Angeles and PBS SoCal. The Phoenix-based executive editor guides four correspondents/producers, a producer/editor, video producer and digital editor to produce multimedia enterprise stories, television packages, long-form explanatory and investigative radio and text stories, digital packages, and breaking news stories. Content is shared by partner stations, affinity digital communities and public media national producers. Cronkite School of Journalism students contribute to the reporting, producing, audience analytics, social media and community engagement.
