Journalism Collaboration: Side Effects Public Media (Additional Year)

The Side Effects Public Media journalism collaborative, led by WFYI/Indianapolis, IN, and including WXXI/Rochester, NY and KBIA/Columbia, MO, focuses on the impact of place, policy and economics on Americans’ health and is a significant source of health news for public media. With this additional funding, Side Effects added partners WOSU TV-FM/Columbus, OH; WNIN TV-FM/Evansville, IN; St. Louis Public Radio; and WILL-FM/Champaign-Urbana, IL; and associate partners WFPL-FM/Louisville, KY; Michigan Public Radio/Ann Arbor and KCUR-FM/Kansas City, MO. Along with feature stories and spot news, the collaboration is creating a weekly health news segment, enhanced digital stories, an additional season of the Sick podcast and piloting a digital video project.
