CPB seeks to make public broadcasting more accessible to the public it serves. To do so CPB maintains a toll-free, 24-hour telephone line (1-800-272-2190), an online contact form, and accepts letters sent directly to CPB.

All comments are available on this website to be viewed by the general public. Each year, by statute, CPB transmits this public link to the White House for its report to Congress. Additionally, comments pertaining to programming are shared with the CPB Board of Directors and relevant public media staff.

Why is the Federal Government (i.e. United States Taxpayer) tasked with funding the CPB when clearly a majority of taxpayers have no interest in a propaganda arm of leftist policies? Any thinking person listening or viewing 24 hours of typical PBS or NPR programing can clearly understand the political bent eminatiing from the broadcast. To say that programming is of equal content in equal time periods is easily disproved.

Where are the voices warning us that this is far more than business as usual? That we are in the midst of a Consistutional crisis? That the efforts through the courts are placeholders giving citizens time to take action to preserve their democracy? During Trump I, people and groups like Indivisible and Norm Eisen were covered by NPR. Not so in Trump II. The people need to hear their voices again. When I search the word coup on NPR, only foreign countries come up, yet that word is being used by reputable folks to describe what is happening now in the US. That is unprecedented, yet you, supposedly professional journalists, are not covering this aspect. Where is the full coverage? Where are the amazingly undemocratic quotes by Republicans? By Trump? By Musk? Where is Heather Cox Richardson’s voice, or Joyce Vance’s, or Bernie Sander’s, or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’? Robert Reich’s? Where is the interview of Steven Levitsky and Lucan A. Way who authored the thoughtful article in Foreign Affairs entitiled The Path to American Authoritarianism? Where is your coverage of our situation by foreign journalists? Is that also as watered down as yours? What is the importance of Volodymyr Zelensky’s urging European leaders to accept that automatically assuming there will be US support is no longer valid. What does it mean that Trump said the Ukraine may be part of Russia someday and Vance did not rule out US troops there? What could that mean? How can you resist connecting those potential dots? What you’re doing is not journalistic neutrality, it is jouranlistic fear. As I understand it, journalists pair fear with courage for an essential reason. This is a scary moment, but it’s one journalists should be drawn to. It’s the biggest story of your lives (of our lives). It’s the second biggest story in US history (the Revolutionary War being the first). Thorough journalism is a pillar of democracy for a reason. We all do this together, or we’re all done until the next opportunity for a revolutionary war, if it ever comes again, because, as you know, the circumstances were just right for us to win the first one. The odds were completely against us; we shouldn’t have won. And if the media is not doing their job completely in the current long odds, we won’t win, and real journalism will go away. Crack this open while there is still time to do so. Go ahead and include the complete Democratic chaos and wobbly response. Go ahead and interview those who wonder what the next steps will be even if we manage to shut this coup down anytime soon, because Democrats are as responsible for getting us here as Republicans. And what about my local station, KLCC? I’ve heard nothing about Merkley’s and Wyden’s jam packed townhalls. Nothing about what our representatives are doing to push back or hold other legislators accountable. I’ve heard no local stories asking hard questions of Governor Kotek or Attorney General Rayfield how exactly they are acting to protect Oregonians. No coverage of the February 5th protest in Salem or the planned Presidents Day protests. No stories about our the scientists in Oregon research insitutions that are having to cut back on research and are considering the possibility of shutting down labs. Why am I having to suggest the possible stories? The possibilities are deep! People are terrified they’ll lose their Social Security, their Medicare, their retirement mutual funds, their child’s school, their libraries, their safety nets, their homes and their health. We have a homeless crisis. Is this making it worse or better right now in this moment? How about local commercial banks? Are they safe for consumers? How about VISA queing up to partner with Musk. Wonder if he’ll be fair, ethical and honest in that business deal? Is VISA the least bit concerned he might be untrustworthy to partner with or expose sensitive consumer information to? We are in a moment of journalistic feasting and I’m still hearing stories about moss (not making that up). While we need relief from the enslaught, we also need the truth — all of it. We need acknowledgement that this is not regular times, our feelings of fear are justified. Your reporting increases the surreal nature of what is happening. This is not a time for giggling on air. We need to hear in your voices both calm and deep seriousness. Don’t want to panic the public? Why not? Now is a time to feel panicked. And, do you really want to take on the task of deciding what the public can and can’t handle? Not your job. Please live up the the Public Radio I have known my entire adult life. Please match your journalism to the extreme moment we are in. I’ve seen some improvement this week, but not nearly enough. More please. Make it count! I am reading that Trump and his cronies are targeting CPB and NPR to defund your operations. How are you responding? You need to speak up and justify your operations for all Americans. Or, if you are defunded, you need to start a massive campaign to raise money to keep your stations in business. Thank you.

Note from CPB: Thank you for your comment and for your support of public media. CPB remains committed to educating the public about the value of public media and the many essential services it provides to all Americans. However, as a federally funded organization, CPB is prohibited from engaging in lobbying or advocacy efforts. Efforts related to advocacy are led by other national organizations dedicated to this work.

WAMC biased left leaning talk shows

Connecticut
Feedback:

I've listened to WAMC over the past 10 years. Without doubt, their morning show the "roundtable" can be cited as a prime example of why taxpayers are concerned about CPB's funding of shows with political bias. The format of this weekday morning show is 4 5 liberals discuss how bad republican policies are . Maybe once a month they might have one conservative speaker. I am also sure this isn't the first complaint on WAMC. I would appreciate that someone from CPB take the time and listen to just one show. It runs 9 to 11:30 out of albany NY and can be listened to by going to their website www.wamc.org. Thanks, J**n B***n

Caving to Trump/Musk

Connecticut
Feedback:

Words cannot express how frustrated and angry I am that you've sacrificed your principles and eliminated all diversity training, etc. During pledge drives you're always saying how little the government awards CPB. It would be FAR smarter, as well as patriotic, to kiss that $ goodbye and fundraise based on that decision. The notion that Trump/Musk won't cut that funding anyway is absurd! I have been a generous donor to VPR, WGBH and CT public radio for decades. I am rethinking that giving now. Sincerely, R***n L******t D*******n, CT

Please reform or defund NPR

Pennsylvania
Feedback:
NPR is the strongest transmitting station in my neighborhood so I have been listening to it almost daily in the past 18 months. With the exception of the few minutes of hourly news, all of its programming is intricately crafted extreme left wing propaganda. Examples abound, when a theater play is presented, it is about illegal immigrants, by an illegal immigrant or both. Only yesterday, an NPR moderator called for non-violent resistance including blocking highways, to the efforts to remove illegal immigrants. The commentary on Gaza is so clearly unbalanced that it would take a separate letter to describe. Lastly, NPR presents unfair competition to commercial stations who are forced to include advertising and are unable to repeat every item numerous times a day. Please completely reform NPR by freezing and reviewing its workers and programming and replacing all senior and creative staff. Alternatively, please replace this out of control propaganda mouthpiece with an emergency channel that transmits weather and emergency messages.

Newt & Calista Gingrich show profiling 9 immigrants on PBS - WHYY TV 12

Pennsylvania
Feedback:
Dear CPB, I was stunned beyond belief when I was channel surfing and found an interesting program featuring 9 immigrants to the USA, but the title of the program was..."Newt & Calista Gingrich Presents...". Newt Gingrich wanted to KILL CPB back in the 1990s! What is going on? Newt Gingrich has furthered the Big Lie, and is certainly a super MAGA member! I just wanted to vomit. Are you giving your approval in advance - as Professor Timothy Snyder tells us was what many did in Nazi Germany to ensure their safety under the coming Dictatorship? Just unbelievable! I will never give a dime again to CPB or NPR or any local station. You just so disgust me with this decision.

DEI at NOVA

Louisiana
Feedback:
Your DEI efforts on the NOVA program are obvious. My question is - do you have federal funding or a federal mandate to implement DEI in this show? If this is the case, you should state this in the program. It's a show about science, and I don't really like seeing under the table political agendas.

For the love of God, get Ayesha Rascoe off the air

Virginia
Feedback:
Besides the chorus of complaints about her voice, which I wholeheartedly agree with (it's worse than nails on a chalkboard), she's unprofessional and does not uphold the standards of quality NPR / CPB should be upholding. She doesn't even meet the standards of quality I'd hold a small, regional radio station to. I get that Sunday mornings are primarily fluff, but between celebrity gossip updates & the puzzle there are topics of actual importance discussed and she doesn't deliver the goods. Oftentimes she sounds unprepared, and most cringe of all is when she obviously doesn't understand or know a word in the script she's reading. The delivery is sophomoric at best; almost every discussion sounds like high school girl chit-chat. She can't turn it off no matter what the topic is. As long as she's a fixture on one of the flagship programs, I will not be a financial supporter.

Feedback:
I cant listen to Sunday morning edition anymore this woman has such a rude and unprofessional vibe all around; if she was at Starbucks they'd have her treat her guests better. She doesn't finish her words and strongly uses her out of office accent, she interrupts and rephrases others words, she treats people she's interviewing that she obviously doesn't like with a easy to notice tone, like children almost, she is distracting and is terrible at asking or responding to serious questions. Im a contributor, Id like it if she put some Effort and Respect into her world news job. It's ludicrous, I love my bay area and I want and deserve a serious radio she can do better, or please leave.

Good morning. I think you guys covered the Secretary of Defense hearing yesterday to see if that stuff was going to be approved. I couldn't help but notice that anytime the Democrats are talking, the camera’s on them and rock steady. Most of the time the Republicans are talking, you had pan shots in the gallery, the shaky camera, or a long shot of them. Bias is blatantly obvious. Lose the bias. Get rid of that cameraman, and go forth.

Yeah, I just wanted to say this for um... that's ????? um because after there's a fire, it affects the clouds a lot more spraying, and then there's mud slides and more people die, so it needs to get out there, and people need to not be in that area very long until things are cleared out because of risks; the chance. It hasn't really rained yet, but the weather could change at any time overnight. It could start raining, so just mentioning that, that's curious. Thank you.

D***d G***s here, long time public radio and TV listener/watcher and sustaining member of my local NPR station KAZU. I think public radio and TV is a tremendous asset but I am very concerned about what will become of public broadcasting when Trump and congress cut funding for CPB. Will CPB be able to survive? If so will there be have to be major cutbacks or will CPB be able to carry on? I sure hope we don't lose such a wonderful service. Sincerely, D***d G***s

American Experience - The American Vice President

Colorado
Feedback:

I was appalled while watching the program on vice presidents to hear one of the "experts" (Jared Cohen, author of Accidental Presidents) state that John F. Kennedy was shot live on television. That such a gross exaggeration should have gone unchallenged by the interviewer, unchecked by the fact checkers, unnoticed by the producer, director or anyone else connected with this program is unbelievable. Having worked in public television and public radio I have always taken great pride in the accuracy, and integrity of public broadcasting. But this shakes my confidence to its very foundation. True Lee Harvey Oswald was shot live on at least one network, but not all three. I believe CBS was live and ABC and NBC were showing another live event of that weekend. But the simple fact is the shooting of John F. Kennedy was not seen on television until Dick Gregory appeared with Robert Groden on the ABC show of Geraldo Rivera, Good Night America, on March 6, 1975. That was when the Zapruder film of the assassination was aired to the public for the first time. For heaven's sake do not allow this misinformation to be shown again without fixing this incredible error. R***r D****y
