Cheraine Stanford, Vice President, Television Content Strategy

Cheraine Stanford is Vice President of Television Content Strategy at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. In this capacity, she plans, leads, and executes projects and strategic initiatives that advance a mission-focused pipeline of public media content for national distribution across a diverse range of broadcast and digital platforms.

Stanford comes to CPB from WPSU in central Pennsylvania, where she served as Content Strategy Director responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for the station's original productions across digital, radio, and television. She also served as Chair of the PBS Digital Media Advisory Council. Her work has garnered four Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards, a George Foster Peabody Award, CINE Golden Eagle, Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Award, and several Mid-Atlantic Emmy nominations. She was a 2016 Senior Editorial Fellow in CPB’s Next Generation Leadership program and a 2011 CPB/PBS Producers Academy Fellow.

Before joining WPSU, she worked on several projects with Albert Maysles at Maysles Films in Harlem, New York. Stanford also served as Production Coordinator for the Peabody Award-winning election roadshow series for “Washington Week with Gwen Ifill.”

Stanford began her career as a reporter and staff writer for the Charlotte Observer newspaper in North Carolina. She is a cum laude graduate of Duke University and has a Master of Fine Arts from Temple University.
