WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 19, 2024) – The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) Board of Directors awarded Congressman Earl Blumenauer the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to public media. The award was presented today at a CPB Board meeting.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 11, 2024) – The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has awarded FRONTLINE Editor-in-Chief and Executive Producer Raney Aronson-Rath the Edward R. Murrow Award, recognizing her outstanding contributions to journalism and public media. The award was presented at a CPB Board dinner Wednesday night in Washington, D.C.

PBS Wisconsin Education Team Receives Bobbi English Champion for Children Award 

Honor includes $5,000 for station’s continued early learning efforts 

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (September 12, 2023) – The PBS Wisconsin Education Team, led by Alyssa Tsagong and Jon Miskowski, has been named the winner of the 2023 Bobbi English Champion for Children Award from Sesame Workshop, PBS KIDS, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). The award, announced today at the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) Conference in Grand Rapids, MI, includes $5,000 from Sesame Workshop to PBS Wisconsin to be used to support early childhood work that benefits children across the state.  

Cathy Cook and Gina Masciola of WQED Pittsburgh Receive Bobbi English Champion for Children Award

January 24, 2022 – Gina Masciola, Managing Director of Education, and Cathy Cook, Director of Education at WQED in Pittsburgh, have been named the joint recipients of the 2022 Bobbi English Champion for Children Award from Sesame Workshop, PBS, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). The award, announced at today’s virtual CPB Thought Leader Forum, recognizes Cook and Masciola for their dedication to the enrichment and engagement of children in their local community.

CPB Honors WUFT and Florida Public Radio Emergency Network with Community Lifeline Award

Collaboration of Thirteen Stations Based at University of Florida

(WASHINGTON, DC) March 19, 2019—The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) today presented the Community Lifeline Award to WUFT-TV/FM (WUFT) and the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network (FPREN) during a meeting of the CPB Board of Directors. The award recognizes public media stations providing outstanding service to their communities during local emergencies, natural disasters and other urgent situations. 

Cindy Putman of Central Tennessee PBS Receives Bobbi English Champion for Children Award

Honor includes $15,000 for station’s continued early learning efforts

January 27, 2021 -- Cindy Putman, Ready To Learn Project Manager at WCTE Central Tennessee PBS in Cookeville, Tennessee, was named recipient of the 2021 Bobbi English Champion for Children Award from Sesame Workshop, PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). The award, recognizing Putman for her dedication to the enrichment and engagement of children in their local community, includes $15,000, funded by Sesame Workshop, for WCTE to be used to support early childhood work that reaches underserved children in vulnerable communities.
