Public media in America is extraordinarily diverse. Besides more than 1,500 local television and radio stations, the public media system includes national providers of programming and organizations devoted to technical support, management assistance, and research. Each brings a unique resource to contribute to the success of the system. CPB supports collaboration among stations, organizations, and producers to develop a vibrant public media ecosystem.
