CPB Names Donna Joe as Executive Vice President and General Counsel

Washington, D.C. (November 12, 2025) — The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) announced today that Donna Joe has been promoted to Executive Vice President and General Counsel, succeeding Evan Slavitt who joined CPB in 2024 and has accepted a new position with the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law.

In her new role, Joe will oversee CPB’s legal affairs, providing strategic counsel on matters related to compliance, grants, litigation, and public media policy. She will also serve as a senior advisor to CPB’s leadership team and Board of Directors.

“Donna brings exceptional judgment, integrity, and a deep understanding of CPB’s mission,” said Patricia Harrison, President and CEO of CPB. “Her steady leadership and legal expertise have been invaluable to CPB, particularly during a period of extraordinary challenge and transition.”

Joe joined CPB in 2009 as Senior Business Affairs Attorney and has played a key role in advancing CPB’s legal and policy priorities, including oversight of grant execution and compliance. She has also been instrumental in ensuring CPB’s adherence to its statutory responsibilities and commitment to transparency, accountability, and independence.

“I’m honored to continue serving CPB and the public media system in this new capacity,” said Donna Joe, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of CPB. “Public media plays an essential role in ensuring universal access to trusted, fact-based information, local storytelling, and educational content, and I look forward to continuing my longstanding support for that mission.”
