CPB Statement in Response to President Trump’s Proposed Rescissions Package and Budget Eliminating CPB Funding

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 3, 2025) -- Patricia Harrison, President and CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), issued the following statement regarding the President’s proposed rescissions package sent to Congress today to claw back $1.1 billion of already appropriated funding for CPB, as well as his FY 2026 budget proposal, which eliminates all funding for public media except $30 million in closeout costs for CPB.

25 Public Media Stations to Begin Training in Advanced Digital Transformation Program

CPB Statement on Congress’ Approval of Continued Funding for Public Media

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 14, 2025) — Patricia Harrison, President and CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), issued the following statement today after the House and Senate approved a Continuing Resolution (CR) for Fiscal Year 2025, extending funding for public media. The legislation provides $535 million for CPB in Fiscal Year 2027, upholding the two-year advance appropriation for public media.

CPB Awards Up to $500,000 to Two Public Radio Stations to Improve Emergency Alerting

Raven Radio in Sitka, Alaska, and WCLK in Atlanta Secure Next Generation Warning System Funding

WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 16, 2024) – Public radio stations Raven Radio in Sitka, AK, and WCLK in Atlanta will receive a total of up to $508,234 from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to upgrade their equipment to provide enhanced emergency alerting. With these grants, CPB has awarded funding to 40 public media stations in 22 states so far for the Next Generation Warning System (NGWS) grant program, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

CPB Awards Up to $587,000 to Three Public Radio Stations to Improve Emergency Alerting

Stations in California, Pennsylvania and Utah Secure Next Generation Warning System Funding

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 12, 2024) – Public radio stations KVPR in Fresno, CA; WQLN in Erie, PA; and KRCL in Salt Lake City, UT, will receive a total of up to $587,704 from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to upgrade their equipment to provide enhanced emergency alerting. With these grants, CPB has awarded funding to 38 public media stations in 21 states so far for the Next Generation Warning System (NGWS) grant program, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

First 50 Public Media Stations Selected for Second Phase of Digital Transformation Program

With these grants, CPB has awarded funding to 35 public media stations in 19 states so far for the Next Generation Warning System (NGWS) grant program, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
