    WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 14, 2021) -- The CPB Board of Directors will meet virtually on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 2–5:55 pm ET. On the draft agenda:

  • CPB Funds COVID-19 PSAs for Tribal and HBCU Public Radio Stations

    WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 8, 2021) – The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has awarded more than $300,000 to Native Public Media and to KTSU-FM, a public radio station licensed to a Historically Black College and University (HBCU), to coordinate COVID-19 public outreach campaigns to 51 public radio stations serving Native and Black communities. The campaigns, airing on 36 tribal stations and 15 stations licensed to HBCUs, will provide trusted, life-saving information to populations that have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic.

  • CPB Honors WUFT and Florida Public Radio Emergency Network with Community Lifeline Award

    (WASHINGTON, DC) March 19, 2019—The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) today presented the Community Lifeline Award to WUFT-TV/FM (WUFT) and the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network (FPREN) during a meeting of the CPB Board of Directors. The award recognizes public media stations providing outstanding service to their communities during local emergencies, natural disasters and other urgent situations.

  • CPB Announces Funding Increases for National Multicultural Alliance Organizations

    WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 22, 2021) – The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) announced that each of the five public media organizations forming the National Multicultural Alliance (NMCA) will receive a $500,000 funding increase starting this fiscal year. CPB support helps these organizations provide much-needed content about diverse communities, created by diverse filmmakers, to the public television system and viewers across the country.

  • PRX, PBS KIDS and CPB Announce Ready To Learn Podcast Accelerator

    BOSTON (February 10, 2021) –– PRX, PBS KIDS, and CPB today announced the Ready To Learn Podcast Accelerator, a podcast training and development program for producers creating educational content for kids. One podcast from the training will be distributed by PBS KIDS. The program is made possible by a Ready To Learn grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

  • Fred Rogers Productions Receives $3M Grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting for 'Donkey Hodie'

    Fred Rogers Productions, the award-winning children’s entertainment company behind the much-loved, Emmy-winning PBS KIDS series Daniel Tiger’s NeighborhoodOdd Squad, and Peg + Cat, has secured a $3 million, multi-year funding grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) for Donkey Hodie. The highly anticipated, multiplatform puppet series for preschoolers, which is produced by Fred Rogers Productions and Spiffy Pictures (Nature Cat), launches May 3, 2021, on PBS KIDS.
