Deborah Carr, Senior Vice President, Operations and Strategy

Deborah Carr serves as the Senior Vice President, Operations and Strategy at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). In addition to working closely with the Chief Operating Officer to provide effective leadership, strategy, planning and execution of CPB’s operations and grant making efforts, her role includes oversight of the Innovation Team and its portfolio of work on digital transformation and infrastructure investments. Her work will be instrumental in helping transform the public media system to a digital-first, audience-centric approach, which is vital to public media’s success in meeting the needs of users in a multiplatform media landscape.

Previously, Ms. Carr was CPB’s Vice President, Operations and Strategy, responsible for business planning and operations. Earlier, she served as CPB’s Vice President, Media Strategy Operations and spent 10 years in the CPB Radio department, including as Director of Business and Administration, responsible for business operations. Prior to that, she served as the Director of Radio CSG Policy and Administration, managing the 2012/2013 Radio CSG Review that resulted in updates to the Radio CSG policies. In addition, she managed CPB investments in radio programming and system initiatives. Ms. Carr joined CPB in 1996 in the Human Resources department, managing employee benefits and other HR-related functions.

Ms. Carr holds a Master of Business Administration from West Chester University, from which she also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree.
