Michael Levy is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). He oversees the corporation’s operations including the Corporate and Public Affairs, Government Relations, Television, Radio, Digital, Education and Journalism departments.
Mr. Levy joined CPB in 2005 as Vice President, Corporate and Public Affairs. He became Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President in 2015 and moved to his current position in 2017.
Prior to coming to CPB, Mr. Levy served as Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of State, as chief of staff to the lieutenant governor of Oklahoma, special assistant, office of the secretary at the U.S. Department of Labor, chief of staff and communications director at the Republican National Committee, and as a senior legislative aide to a member of Congress from Utah. His role at the State Department had him involved in communications efforts in support of international programs for rule of law, police training, and counternarcotics in some of the most volatile regions of the world.
Mr. Levy attended Emory University, University College London and Delaware Law School (Widener University).
