PBS NewsHour Anti-Israel Bias

Has PBS NewsHour abandoned any pretense to objectivity? Your opening segment on December 18th about the Israel-Hamas war featured Dr. Ghassan Abu Sitta, a physician who has propagated the outrageous libel that "Israel aims to clear Gaza of its population" and "to ethnically cleanse Gaza". During your segment, Dr. Sitta charges the IDF with "waging a war on children". And when confronted with video substantiating the weapons cache that Hamas secreted at Al-Shifa hospital, Dr Abu Sitta ascribes it to the arms that patients shed before entering MRI tubes. His contention is mendacious. The widely circulated video that the IDF recorded of weapons at al-Shifa hospital refute Dr. Abu Sitta's claims. But more problematic still, doesn't PBS ostensible commitment to objectivity obligate it to offer an IDF spokesperson an opportunity to rebut Dr. Abu-Sitta's assertions. By concluding the segment with Dr. Sitta's assertions, the NewsHour leaves the impression that his assertions are incontrovertible. Worse, the report's dishonesty bespeaks the kind of segment a viewer might encounter on Fox News.
