CPB is requesting proposals from a firm (“Consultant”) to provide strategic communications advice to CPB regarding: (a) the structure and focus of its corporate mission and vision statements (b) the advancement of current initiatives on Veterans and Health issues; and (c) the development of two planned initiatives concerning how public media can: (1) help strengthen our civil society and (2) explore the current state and future of work in America against a backdrop of social and technological change. CPB expects to retain the Consultant for a six-month term, renewable for up to two (2) additional six-month periods, at CPB’s sole discretion. The project is expected to require an average of up to twenty (20) hours of work per month.
1. What is the current status of each initiative (the RFP’s distinction between initiative development and framing and initiative refinement suggests each initiative is at a different point in its life cycle)?
The Veterans and Health issues are entering phases that require refinement. Fostering a Civil Society and Exploring the Current and Future State of Work in America are in conceptual stages that require build out and input.
2. Is each initiative meant to be a public-facing branded project (akin to American Graduate) or will these others remain topic priorities under which different investments, partnerships, and content will be pursued?
Civil Society and Health will remain topic priorities. There will be more emphasis on the Civil Society initiative going forward.
3. In 2b, the RFP lists “Initiative: Veterans and Health” -- is this a single initiative or are Veterans and Health two distinct initiatives?
These are two distinct initiatives.
