Production Manager

A talented and experienced member of the WABE’s video team will be responsible for managing WABE Studios productions to ensure compliance with Georgia Film Tax credit rules, during pre-production, production, post-production, and audit processes. This individual has previous experience in a fast-paced production

company, broadcast environment, or post-production facility. They are motivated, flexible, highly organized, and can adapt quickly to changing goals and objectives

 

 

Accountabilities:

PRODUCTION – Collaborate with the Studios Audio and Video production teams to develop production plans and schedules for tax-credit projects

  • Set up the “production office” for each project and oversee the day-to-day operations/paperwork of the studio and field production units
  • Handle logistics and coordinate resources, including equipment, locations, and personnel.
  • Manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and crew members
  • Coordinate onboarding of Production crew payroll with WABE Production Accountant
  • Troubleshoot production-related issues and provide timely solutions to minimize disruptions.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all departments involved in production. -Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, such as location owners, to secure and exhibit necessary permits and clearances.
  • Manage internal studio bookings.
  • Manage crafty and catering services
  • Oversee the distribution and archiving of production materials and documentation.

TAX CREDIT COMPLIANCE – Ensure compliance with state, city, and safety regulations throughout the production process.

  • Maintain GA Tax Credit One Sheet -Monitor and control production expenditures, keeping accurate records and providing regular financial reports in coordination with the WABE Production Accountant
  • Process required paperwork for the GA Film Tax Credit (Day of Days, Producer Daily Narrative, Audit Questionnaire, State Expenditure Report, Call Sheet, Locations, Crew List, Vendor List, Production Stills, etc...) according to state-mandated timelines
  • Provide required documentation for WABE Production Accountant to create internal cross-company invoices -Collaborate with the WABE Production Accountant to track and reconcile expenses, ensuring accurate cost reporting, during production and audit processes.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent organization and budgeting skills. Keeping track of a film’s budget and tax credit paperwork is one of the most important jobs a production manager has. · Excellent communication skills. The production manager must communicate and work with producers, the director, studio executives, crew heads as well as local government and authorities.
  • Knowledge of film and TV production. The production manager should have a working knowledge of film and TV production beyond their specific job duties as they are required to communicate and coordinate with almost every department on a film set.
  • Contacts. Having a working relationship with equipment suppliers and personnel recruiters can help a production manager enormously as they move from job-to-job. When starting a new production, being able to call on the services of people whose abilities you trust will go a long way in helping pre-production planning.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations. Production managers should be well-versed in health and safety regulations, insurance, basic human resources issues, contracts, and labor law. Working knowledge of paperwork requirements for GA Film Tax credits.
