Job Description:

Are you a community-minded journalist or recent college grad with a passion for local news and making a difference? If so, we invite you to apply for a NEW position at KOTO Radio in the beautiful San Juan mountains of Southwest Colorado.

This person will help shape coverage of the rural communities in our region and report on local government, education, ag, features and everything in between. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: pitching news stories, pursuing news tips and leads, writing scripts and producing content for both on-air and online platforms. A journalism background or experience covering community news is preferred. Experience with Audacity software is a plus. All aspects of this position are negotiable... because it's NEW! But we can tell you that housing is hard to find and you are not going to get rich working for KOTO. With that, the perks are incredible. You will have the opportunity to serve on our festival broadcast team and interview world-class musicians and artists. You will get to live in an area that boasts the most epic outdoor recreation and scenery in the state. And, you'll get to work with the coolest people in town and gain an entire community of friends in our volunteer DJs. We also have a free M&M machine in the hallway that we keep stocked at all times.

Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable with mountain driving conditions. Please send resumes to News Director Julia Caulfield at julia@koto.org. Don't delay. This position will fill fast.
