Job Description:

Wisconsin Public Radio (www.wpr.org), is seeking a full-time Web Operations Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for the website for WPR. The Web Operations Manager will play a key role in managing and optimizing the website to support our mission of delivering high-quality content and engaging with our audience effectively.

This role will administer the website and other integrated systems, perform web development work, respond to users' questions and issues, fulfill support requests, and provide user training. The Manager will also work closely with staff in WPR's news, music, fundraising, marketing and finance units to gather requirements, submit development requests to the campus web development team, and track, prioritize, and lead projects. The expectation is that this is a working manager position but that the campus web development team will handle more complex coding and development related to the custom WordPress site built by a vendor in early 2024.

A typical week for this role could consist of: meeting with functional users to discuss requests and projects, checking the site for routine maintenance/updates, meeting with development team to review active jobs and discuss next steps, solving support issues and performing other technical work within the CMS, developing training materials to improve adoption of the site, tracking the website work and prioritizing tasks, and/or running reports and metrics on a scheduled or ad hoc basis.

WPR has a digital content unit that is responsible for posting, editing and managing content on social and digital platforms. This role will be a key partner for them as well.

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills to assist staff with a broad range of technical experience in understanding and using the website and related technical applications. They will be goal- and detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, analytical, and enjoy problem solving and learning new things, and embrace working collaboratively with a variety of staff. Success in this role depends as much on interpersonal, communication and task management skills as technical knowledge.

We are committed to equitable, unbiased hiring processes, flexible work environments, and ongoing, open conversations and reviews of diversity, equity and inclusion in our content and workplace. This role will report to the Director of IT. This position will primarily be on-site, but there is workplace flexibility for some remote work opportunities.

We encourage anyone who meets the required qualifications to apply.
