Summary:
Vermont Public is seeking a Social Media Specialist to oversee the organization’s content distribution and branding efforts on social media platforms. The Social Media Specialist both creates content and develops strategies for increasing audience engagement, building awareness and amplifying key station initiatives. They serve as the in-house expert on leveraging social media to fuel audience growth, with an eye towards analytics, emerging trends, and audience needs. Vermont Public is active on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, Threads and Reddit. We maintain multiple accounts, including for our overall organization as well as for specific podcasts and shows Social media is a constantly shifting landscape, and our Social Media Specialist should be receptive to new platforms as well as to trends and changes impacting existing ones.

Who Should Apply?

This person should have up-to-date knowledge of the challenges and adaptations necessary to navigate recommendation algorithms and ensure that our content continues to connect with audiences. They should also be highly attuned to the information needs of Vermonters. A background in journalism and media is a plus, with 2 years of professional experience or a college degree preferred.

This a full time salary exempt role. The salary range for this role is $58,656 To $65,832 annually (commensurate with experience).
