WHYY a leading public radio and television station dedicated to enriching our community through award-winning programming and educational outreach, seeks a skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining critical portions of our IT infrastructure, with a focus on Office 365, Active Directory (AD), Local Applications and other on-site technologies. The role involves ensuring the smooth operation, security, and reliability of our systems, as well as providing technical support to end-users.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Office 365 Administration:

    • Manage and administer Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.

    • Configure and troubleshoot Office 365 applications, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.

    • Maintain current security measures such as multi-factor authentication and data loss prevention policies.

    • Monitor Office 365 usage and recommend optimizations to enhance productivity and efficiency.

  2. Active Directory Management:

    • Maintain and administer Active Directory infrastructure, including user accounts, group policies, and domain controllers.

    • Implement security best practices in AD, such as role-based access control and password policies.

    • Troubleshoot AD-related issues and provide timely resolution to ensure uninterrupted access to resources.

  3. LAN/WAN Infrastructure:.

    • Assist with Implementing network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.

    • Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to maintain network infrastructure and resolve issues.

  4. System Maintenance and Support:

    • Administer all mission critical local applications.

    • Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure security and reliability.

    • Respond to IT support requests from end-users, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues promptly.

    • Provide technical guidance and training to end-users on IT-related topics and procedures.

    • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuity.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

 

Experience: 5 years or more experience as an IT Systems Administrator or similar role with strong project and process documentation development. Strong Project and process documentation development with focus on delivery to the company.

 

Technical Skills: Proven experience as an IT Systems Administrator or similar role, with a focus on Office 365, AD, Azure and LAN/WAN technologies. In-depth knowledge of Office 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams. Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Active Directory environments, including user management and group policies. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions. Relevant certifications such as MCSA: Office 365.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and routing protocols.

  • Hands-on experience with network infrastructure devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN concentrators.

  • Experience with Apple products.

  • Relevant certifications, MCSE, CCNA are a plus.
