Job Description:

WTTW (Chicago PBS) and WFMT (classical music radio station) are seeking a full-time Senior Membership Manager to join its Membership marketing and fundraising team. This fast-paced and outcomes-driven position is responsible for managing the successful execution of a variety of fundraising campaigns and initiatives. The person in this role will develop marketing strategies to grow and retain the membership base and increase revenue for the organization The ideal candidate is passionate about the mission and value of public media, is an enthusiastic and collaborative self-starter, and is driven by developing strategies and achieving results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop creative fundraising and direct marketing strategies to acquire, cultivate, and retain members to grow membership base and meet revenue goals.
  • Plan and manage the successful execution of multichannel direct marketing campaigns from start to finish, including budget, strategy, scheduling, creative including brand-aligned message development, list acquisition and segmentation, production and inventory control, and reporting/analysis.
  • In collaboration with database operations team, utilize membership database system for campaign setup and execution, list strategy and segmentation, and data mining and analysis; adhere to organizational data security policies.
  • Create and share analytics dashboards, including results and insights, across established KPIs to inform both team and ongoing/future data-driven strategies and plans.
  • Direct the activities of and serve as liaison for outside direct marketing vendors (creative, data, print, mail, fundraising services, etc.).
  • Stay abreast of organization-wide programming and services to communicate value proposition to members.
  • Work with adjacent departments and functions (member/audience services, database operations, etc.) to maintain quality and integrity of member/audience relationships and database.
  • Act as a department resource for training, guidance, and accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy and excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and editorial skills
  • Flexible and positive approach to work with ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Facility with data and fundraising campaign performance analysis.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) skills
  • Demonstrated experience using customer relationship management software; experience with Tessitura a plus.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a nonprofit, marketing, or public media setting.  

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:  Must have at least three years of nonprofit fundraising experience using a variety of direct response techniques. Demonstrated experience in planning and executing direct marketing campaigns.
