Job Description:

The University of Alabama is seeking a Multimedia Journalist to join the WVUA23 TV news team. We are looking for an experienced, imaginative storyteller who can take a routine story and make viewers care about it. This position is primarily responsible for gathering, writing, producing and reporting news, as well as shooting and editing video. Position is also required to do live shots. Candidate must be a team player, willing to work flexible hours and can produce content on deadline.  Strong, professional digital and social media skills are a must. The individual must be a good communicator, work well with others, and utilize feedback from management. The ideal candidate would have at least one year of experience on-camera and a Broadcast Communications/Journalism degree or equivalent.

 

WVUA23 is a commercial television station located in a 17 million-dollar state-of-the-art Digital Media Center located in Bryant-Denny Stadium. UA is one of only two universities in the nation with a commercial TV station. We are also home to a nationally recognized public radio station and a public TV production unit.
