Digital Marketing and Social Media Coordinator

Reports To: VP, Content

Position Type: Full Time, Exempt

Salary Range: $56,000-$62,000 Annually, commensurate with experience

Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid)

Position Description

The Digital Marketing and Social Media Coordinator for Cincinnati Public Radio will work closely with the content team to grow engagement and brand recognition and drive listenership to our two radio stations, 91.7 WVXU (News/Talk/Information) and 90.9 WGUC (Classical Music). Duties will include planning, implementing, and monitoring our digital marketing campaigns. The successful candidate will oversee the stations’ interactions with the public by implementing content strategies on social media platforms, analyzing engagement data, identifying trends, planning digital campaigns to build an online community, and using social media marketing tools to create and maintain the brand of the stations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee all aspects of our digital marketing efforts.
  • Develop a branding strategy, set goals, and create and implement social media strategies and campaigns.
  • Produce high-quality visual and written content, including but not limited to images, videos, infographics, and captions optimized for various social media platforms and other marketing channels.
  • Interpret data to understand the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make necessary adjustments.
  • Engage social media audiences by working on the daily execution of social strategy to drive audience engagement and build community while staying current on benchmark trends and audience preferences.
  • Maintain a content editorial calendar to plan and schedule posts, ensuring consistency and timely delivery.
  • Monitor social media accounts and respond to comments and messages, fostering community engagement.
  • Experience in campaign planning, including handling print and digital ads, from conception to execution and analysis.
  • Use marketing software such as Sprout Social, MailChimp and WordPress.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Portfolio with examples of job-related experience
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
  • Experience using Google Ad Manager and Google Analytics to prepare reports
  • Passion for and expertise in marketing and social media culture
  • Strong understanding of content marketing principles
  • Expertise in social media analytics, content management systems and email marketing
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of visual design principles
  • Solid analytical, strategic, and creative thinking
  • Impeccable writing and communication skills

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
  • Experience in paid social and digital marketing
  • Excellent understanding of social platforms, content performance, audiences, paid tactics, and digital trends
  • Understanding of journalistic principles
  • Experience editing video and using Canva
