The First Rainbow Coalition

Formerly titled Time of the Phoenix, this documentary explores the legacy of the Rainbow Coalition, formed in 1969 when the Chicago Black Panther Party began to ally itself with other movements from diverse communities including Southern Whites (Young Patriots Organization) and Latinos (Young Lords Organization) to collectively confront police brutality and substandard housing in one of the most segregated cities in post-war America.
