The Ninth Island

This character-driven, hour-long documentary examines the trend of outmigration and cultural drain of Native Hawaiians away from the islands. It focuses on one Native Hawaiian who is struggling to make ends meet in her ancestral homeland and wants to provide a better life for her family. Like many Native Hawaiians, she looks toward the economic promise of "The Ninth Island," the nickname that many Hawaiians give Las Vegas.
