CPB seeks to make public broadcasting more accessible to the public it serves. To do so CPB maintains a toll-free, 24-hour telephone line (1-800-272-2190), an online contact form, and accepts letters sent directly to CPB.

All comments are available on this website to be viewed by the general public. Each year, by statute, CPB transmits this public link to the White House for its report to Congress. Additionally, comments pertaining to programming are shared with the CPB Board of Directors and relevant public media staff.

NPR in gen

Florida
Feedback:

Way too liberal. NPRs answer to why they chose to ignore the very real laptop of Hunter Biden was a complete lie, 100% fabrication. Not one ounce of truth. Given the outright lie, that asshole should be fired and any and all federal funds should be withheld. New standards forcing fair and non partisan coverage enacted. The paradox, NPR would not be able to find any. Odd, huh. No ex NYTer, no Berkeley professors. None

My comment or question is, will the Corporation for the Public Broadcasting continue taking taxpayer money to hide the truth from the American people of the fraud of the election. If you hate our country so much why do you take our money? Why don't you tell the truth?

Unacceptable Government Sponsored Rcism

California
Feedback:

I was extremely offended by a segment on Amanpur this week in which Christine sat there with a smirk on her face while a guest REPEATEDLY spoke about how "White Males" think, act, and should be treated. This constituted a blatant act of government sponsored racism. This will NOT be forgotten unless it is addressed immediately and in such a way that it could never possibly happen again. Think of the effect it has on the white males in your employ and the fact that children witnessed this. You should be ashamed of youreselves unless you terminate the program and publicly state the reason was blatant racism.

PBS programs over the years

California
Feedback:

I have been watching PBS including the Masterpiece Theater offerings for many years. I'll tell you one reason British TV does so well here: It's because UK productions are done so excellently and imaginatively. The British have a long history of excellent literature and theater--and it shows. I often sit in awe of the productions and the quality of British dramatics. The culture here in the U.S. has not for quite some time lent itself to the quality of our productions compared to that which we are lucky to receive from the literary/drama traditions of Britain. (Just a note: I am probably the only person in the world who would have preferred Mr. Cumberbatch performing the "Sherlock" of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I didn't enjoy a surreal "Sherlock" at all. You should have made up a character of your own, not stealing the name "Sherlock" and, instead, come up with your own character name. For me, it was a cheap shot! And god help us if you do the same thing to Agatha Christie characters. Unfortunately, the generations probably since Vietnam or even Korea and The Beatles and R & R have been left without any taste for the classics and don't know any better). Thank heavens I lived in the era of wonderful Hollywood (and foreign film era), and radio, based many of their stories on British stories and very often starred British actors. e.g. Charles Laughton, C. Aubrey Smith, Cary Grant, Vivien Leigh, Maureen O'Hara, Merle Oberon, Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud, Ralph Richardson, Clare Bloom, Helen Mirren, Geraldine Fitzgerald [was she British?]) I respect and enjoy thoroughly the classics, as well as current offerings IF they're good. However, the classics today barely exist: Shakespeare? Walter Scott? Brontes? Austen? Stevenson? Beethoven? Gregorian Chant, De Lassus? Hayden? Mozart? Stravinsky? Ravel? Schubert?--and in television: "I Claudius", "Prime Suspect", and many others. I have repeatedly appealed to KOCE to rerun "Prime Suspect." Its theme, its plot is totally current. But they just don't do it. "I Claudius" definitely should be rerun. You'll never equal the 1st production if you make a new one. The actors and the mindsets today just aren't in the right ballpark. "Victoria"? Sure. It will become a classic. Also, the most recent "Forsyth Saga" (Forsyte?) may become a classic. But, you, too, have no interest in your Masterpiece productions that have become classics (I'm not saying that all are, but some ARE). I suppose that you like to get more money to produce new work and support current writers, directors, actors, etc. Too bad, it appears that the classics are disappearing off the shelves and racks. By the way, KOCE has the most disturbing clanging sound that is increased, electric guitars(?), during program breaks. I don't know why they keep it. It's particularly unpleasant after an important or moving program. They should get rid of it. Otherwise, it's a pretty good station, but then, all the PBS stations are.

Unequal news coverage

Illinois
Feedback:

Dear CPB, I was once a big fan of your news program...not any more. I live near Chicago and watches the 7pm local news every night. In recent months, all the local news are dedicated to some racial groups and there is almost no coverage on Asian American community. I feel completely left out as Asian American. And I guess some people from other ethnic groups feel the same way. This is exactly why America becomes more and more divided- media fueled the division by unequal coverage. The correct path to racial equality is to treat everyone equally with the same amount of respect, but not favoring one over another. You as a government sponsored media should be more conscious than a private media outlet. In addition, your news programs become no less biased than CNN and Fox. The news hosts and guests are emotional and opinionated, making the program look like realIty show. I am no Trump supporter. Actually I am relieved to see him go. But I think you have got two things wrong: 1) not all people who voted for him are loyal to him - it is simply because Biden’s polices may cause more harm to them. 2) many people who vote for Biden not because they agree with everything on the leftists’ agenda - it is simply because they don’t like DT. If you don’t stop unequal news coverage and keep inviting biased guests to the news program, you will drive more and more audience away. And then you wonder why so many people fall for fake news? Because of you!!!! I used to donate to you every year, but this year I decide to give the money to WHO to help the poor countries buy COVID vaccines.

NC Spin vs Gospel Music

North Carolina
Feedback:

We were shocked when we heard it was the last week of NC Spin, a great take on NC politics. Then, when perusing pBS looking for something to watch we came across the gospel music and bluegrass music programs. NC has grown up a lot in the last few years but you are living in the past. Church attendance is way down and I would be very surprised to find people are truly interested in church music. The same with bluegrass which is enjoyed by a select few. We were just about to give more monthly. Ugh.

Why is Fake News So Effective

Massachusetts
Feedback:

I am a Massachusetts educator, and I was impressed by the online assignment, "Why is Fake News So Effective?" This topic was broken down in a manner which reached different types of learners. The images and interactives really kept my students engaged. I also appreciate the final assessment, which nicely drew on a culmination of skills that the student built from the previous segments in the assignment.

I wanted to know if the maker of this online interactive has other interactives of this nature. I appreciate the manner in which students can work on topics, save information, and see a folder of their work. I also think that this is extremely helpful for educators, as they are able to conveniently aggregate and grade students' data. If you can please assist me with this, that would be great!

Sincerely,

Robert Fitzgerald Norton High School, Massachusetts

Lincoln Project

Feedback:

I'm just curious why no media or news organization has picked up the story of the Lincoln Project persecuting people that used to work for our old government. They're going after people, canceling their jobs, getting them fired. That doesn't seem very American to me. Why isn't there a story about that?

PBS Newshour - Yamiche Alcindor talks too fast

Feedback:

The show is excellent. We just wish Yamiche Alcindor could slow down when she talks. It is so bad we can’t understand what she is saying. On other shows she doesn’t talk this fast and very good and professional. We wish she could take it down a notch or two so we could hear her properly.

PBS and CPB Broadcasting Propaganda

Idaho
Feedback:

I have read hundred of complaints regarding how unbalanced and opinionated the NewHours has become, you can't take money from taxpayers and only report propaganda from the left, you state that you have nothing to do with these shows, you don't produce ect., so making comment is a complete waste of time, pointless. Both of these organization refuse to hire conservative journalist, or have any guest that don't fit a Socialist/Communist narrative. You make wonderful shows on Travel, Science, Food etc., but you should no longer be allowed a favored tax break for reporting any Political programs. Your ads say, Fair and Balanced or something like that and that's completely untrue. Yamish and the other three gals are not journalist, they just give us their liberal opinion, so cut the crap, drop those ads as the News Hours is not honest at all. Go back to Journalist school, or hire some Conservative Journalist, investigative reporting is not what you are doing, you are nothing more than a propaganda tool for the Communist party. . . the other show are great, stop the Political B.S. shows. . . Bashing the President of the United States 24/7/ 365 is not news, you treated Obama or Hillary or Billy, or Sid Blumenthal the senator who lied about his Military service. Everyone knows voter fraud is real but U? Not one honest story on Voter Fraud, where's the Journalism.. .. . . I have watched you every week for years, so I know how bad you have become, lead, follow or get out of the business. . .
