Republican National Convention

Arizona
Feedback:

I have noticed in the past when I watch PBS that their news is slanted to the left but I was really surprised how the comments were so different from the Democrat National convention compared to that of the Republican national convention. PBS raises money to stay on the air and their news should be unbiased.

If they wanted to stay unbiased all the station would have Of had to do was to televise each speaker without anybody from PBS making comments. The American people can think for themselves they don’t need a commentator giving us their opinion.

RNC Convention

August 27, 2020
Feedback:

I watched the Democratic Convention for four days and the Republican Convention for three days. I can not believe the bias of all the contributors. You must have a dozen leftsts, Democrats, liberals. Everything on the Democratic was wonderful and powerful form Obama and so forth. Basically everything that the Republicans have done is dark and stark. Yamiche is unbelievable. Criticizing and criticizing. You do not have a conservative out of twelve people that are making comments. Judy Woodruff doesn't even know where she's at. She's too old to host. She doesn't ask questions. She sets up a question for her contributors to say something that she wants to hear. I'm amazed. It's so blatantly obvious. Mark Shields, the self proclaimed conservative from the New York Times and Canada. The people on the show are all so biased. It is unbelievable. I'd like hear you all explain your coverage of the Republican National Convention.

The PBS News Hour - Afraid to report two points of view!

Louisiana
Feedback:

It is a sad state of affairs when you feel you are being fed propaganda by PBS. What are they afraid of? I feel there is no balance in the reporting anymore. I wonder if anyone even bothers to read these complaints? There is no longer any integrity or a "safe space" to be found on PBS. Apparently, it must follow the Democrats' political agenda and stay in line to get funding. Yes, PBS will sell its soul for the almighty dollar - PBS was cheap.

Yamiche Alcindor, The News Hour

Maryland
Feedback:

Yamiche Alcindor has been adding editorial comments and opinion to her reporting of the Trump Whitehouse for sometime. Ms. Alcindor’s diction and rushed elocution is very difficult to understand-she talks way to fast To be understood clearly. Her editorializing damages PBSs very high standard of excellent journalism. I contribute to PBS and I love The PBS News Hour with all my heart. I urge you to replace Ms. Alcindor with any of your excellent reporters. I thank you so very much for the important work you do. It is vital to our democracy. Please keep up the great job.

Arthur Anti-Racism Episode

August 12, 2020
Feedback:

I'm calling as a mom with four kids under age seven. I just wanted to say that I'm very disappointed in the programming. I'm very disappointed with Arthur in particular. I really thought that was a good channel to help good values like kindness and respect, but I'm very disappointed. I think they're too young to be told about world problems or even U.S. problems. They started sticking racism in there and I don't like for them to be told that kind of stuff yet. It's too young. I'm very disappointed. I think you need to let kids be kids. I don't know what other shows on PBS are doing the same thing. I don't want any of my tax money to go to you guys anymore. I'm gonna find out if I can stop this tax money going to your programming. We're not watching PBS anymore.

Biased coverage of RNC by PBS Newshour

Texas
Feedback:

Please stop the completely biased coverage of the RNC. You spend all your air time with commentary from your biased reporters to your guest commentators. You spent last week glorifying Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and this weeks started with calling Donald Trump a Racist. There has to be some middle with all the public dollars that support this program PBS Newshour. Please stop the fall to the extreme left. You’ve officially become the mouthpiece for the Democrats. Disgusting news and reporting

Yamiche Alcindor

Feedback:

For some time, I've perceived Yamiche Alcindor, from her reports and questions at the White House, has a political bias and a double standard. Her tweet knocking that paralyzed fellow, Congressional candidate Cawthorn, for standing for the American flag at the RNC validates my perception. It's a sad and shame that journalism has morphed into a political agenda. I suggest she be assigned to be report nonpolitical subjects such as technology, finance, travel, family, etc.. This about the third time that it has happened her. I'm sure she's a nice person. I'm an independent voter. I watched both the Democrats and the Republicans. I thought her tweet was not appropriate.

Arthur Anti-Racism Episode

August 15, 2020
Feedback:

I'm calling in regards to PBS Kids - the Arthur show. I was just watching this show with my son. I just want to say that I'm offended on what I just saw. I do not appreciate hearing for 15 minutes about how I have to be anti-racist. My son is four years old. He's trying to be a kid right now. For some reason, this narrative that somehow grew on the left of the political spectrum, is now working its way into PBS Kids. The fact that you guys get hundreds of millions of dollars from taxpayers money, my money. It's not your right to shove a political narrative down the throats of children that are too young to know what you're doing. It would make sense if the statistics were true and African Americans were being disproportionately treated with racism daily, but they're not. Not statistically. Racism exists but not to the wide degree that the left is trying to push right now. We have an election going on right now, and after years of this show being on air this narrative shows up. It's appalling that you guys have to jump on the bandwagon with no regard to parents.

NPR Political Coverage, Most or All Shows Horribly Biased

Arizona
Feedback:

As a listener since college and now for over 25 yrs, I was a fan and past financial supporter of NPR. I am a moderate who crossed party lines. Now, after years of naked leftist bias, I am repulsed and revolted by most NPR programs (Morning Ed., All Things Considered, Here and Now, Fresh Air, many podcasts) and nearly, without exaggeration, all the time. Public dollars can not be spent promoting the unbalanced and even anti-American programming (ref Hiroshima bombing coverage). The bias is evident in the topics, adjectives chosen, editorial comments/exchanges between hosts, & sound bites -- simply throughout every show, broadcast and segment. More than other factors, NPRs slant has repulsed me to the right. The label of depressing/negative "fear mongering" is also apt. CPB, your charter is "quality content". Permanent political slant is the poorest of quality and even dangerous.

A past friend of NPR, I am now an opponent.

Your strange editorial reply on Feedback to similar comments is nonsensical.

Everytime I come across her reporting or questioning officials, she shows her lack of knowledge, and you should be embarrassed to have her represent you. And as a taxpayer I find it egregious that the public pays for this . You should be better than supporting someone who is just asinine.

RNC Convention

August 27, 2020
Feedback:

I've never seen such a biased one-sided presentation of a news happening than PBS has done this week with the Republican National Convention. I watched your network last week and watched you fawn and drool all over the Democrats for four nights in a row for two to three hours every night. When they had a good feed coming you went right to their feed and stayed on it till their speaker finished and then came back and talked about it. I noticed you let very few Republican speakers through. It's mostly the talking heads. You've got two panels with four people on each panel. Three of the four are leftists with one token Republican and then you've got Judy Woodruff who leans sorta left with Amy who also leans sorta left. It's basically twelve people to two. That's how one-sided, lop-sided and biased your coverage is. And one of the worst is Cynthia Tucker. She is just a foul mouth leftist. Yamiche Alcindor is even worse than her. Even Michael has become an outright leftist. The fact that you guys take tax money from the United States taxpayers and then put out this one-sided diatribe leads me to believe its time to take public funding away from you guys. You should be embarrassed. I'm watching C-span so I don't have to listen to the leftist talking heads that you put out there every damn night. How can you guys call yourself journalists? How do you guys sleep at night.

CA is not as vigilant about COVID 19 as reported on the news

California
Feedback:
COVID 19 TASTES GOOD LIKE A PANDEMIC SHOULD The question of whether or not there are "Nazis in the Whitehouse” is better asked "Today, as opposed to the end of World War II, how MANY Nazis do we have in the Whitehouse and what are they doing there?” Nazi COVID 19 plan COULD BE to do the opposite of 1933 and to go for the non-essential children and young adults last. The American Nazis aren’t worried. Their PLAN to kill 6.5 billion 'useless eaters'. Why don't you report AGENDA 21?

PBS Newshour - Judy Woodruff

Illinois
Feedback:

Hello,

I've noticed Judy Woodruff has not been hosting the PBS Newshour for the past 2 evenings (starting Monday, July 13, 2020); it's been hosted by Amna Nawaz. Why? Ms. Nawaz does a good job, but I very much prefer Ms. Woodruff. There is something about Ms. Woodruff's calm, self-composed, reassuring, clearheaded demeanor which allows her to ask probing questions while still maintaining a distance, an apparent objectivity, and a professionalism, that is extremely rare in journalism. Also, I see Ms. Woodruff as having earned, in what was a male-dominated profession, and continuing to deserve, her anchor position - I am concerned that ageism and/or reverse discrimination attitudes in PBS and the wider world may now be working against her. Ms. Nawaz is young, and she may, with experience, sound a tad less judgmental when interviewing guests (she projects no obvious party bias - just a slightly judgmental tone) - but I say, let Ms. Woodruff anchor until she doesn't want to or can't - like any of the famous male anchors before her.
