Radio

Responsible for the oversight of the station’s news and public affairs coverage, with occasional news-gathering as necessary. This includes managing story assignment, keeping a consistent tone and production of newscasts, commentaries, and public affairs programs. Assist in the expansion of reporting, to include stringers, student interns, station volunteers, and grant-funded news staff. Provide editorial decision-making and guidance. Be able to assist with required federal and state issues reports.


 

JOB SUMMARY

The Morning Edition Host/News Reporter is the voice of Morning Edition in the Four Corners. The position is also responsible for reporting and producing local news under the direction of the News Director. 

The second part of the job will be focused on community engagement reporting.  Duties will include:

Purpose

KUT News is looking for a journalist to cover general assignment news in Travis County. They will create short, quick turnaround stories for radio and web. This position would begin working at 6 am with the Morning Edition team to begin reporting on overnight events and breaking morning stories.
