RNC Convention

August 27, 2020
Feedback:

I've never seen such a biased one-sided presentation of a news happening than PBS has done this week with the Republican National Convention. I watched your network last week and watched you fawn and drool all over the Democrats for four nights in a row for two to three hours every night. When they had a good feed coming you went right to their feed and stayed on it till their speaker finished and then came back and talked about it. I noticed you let very few Republican speakers through. It's mostly the talking heads. You've got two panels with four people on each panel. Three of the four are leftists with one token Republican and then you've got Judy Woodruff who leans sorta left with Amy who also leans sorta left. It's basically twelve people to two. That's how one-sided, lop-sided and biased your coverage is. And one of the worst is Cynthia Tucker. She is just a foul mouth leftist. Yamiche Alcindor is even worse than her. Even Michael has become an outright leftist. The fact that you guys take tax money from the United States taxpayers and then put out this one-sided diatribe leads me to believe its time to take public funding away from you guys. You should be embarrassed. I'm watching C-span so I don't have to listen to the leftist talking heads that you put out there every damn night. How can you guys call yourself journalists? How do you guys sleep at night.

As a Cuban refugee

Florida
Feedback:

When I was 19 years old and in college, I, a Cuban young woman (nacida y criada en Cuba) who prided herself on speaking Americanized English, worked at a college library to put myself through college (something that most college kids refuse to do nowadays). The college librarian one day said to me, "Would you mind calling Miami for me? I hate having to call down there. They can barely speak English." She didn't know I had been born in Cuba.

In typical "PBS leftist belief," that comment would have been considered a crime that terminally injured my "feelings," and therefore perfect for StoryCorps or some anti-American documentary geared to "explain" how evil America and its people are to minorities.

Please know that when the librarian said that to me, I agreed with her 100%! Refugees to any country should be legal, but not only that. They should also never refuse learning and education, and in particular should never ignore (or refuse to learn) the language of the country that offered them safety.

PBS does minorities no favors by encouraging or excusing their flaws, or by disabusing others of the idea that they should be expected to excel.

A few days ago I decided to return to PBS for a few days to watch your current programs, and I found that except for the English programs from the BBC, more than 50% of what you air, are anti-American programs. It's the reason I had ceased watching PBS altogether and discourage others from watching it.

Thank God I ignored your leftist beliefs back then. If I hadn't, I might have today been rioting for nothing other than manufactured mainstream media racism.

Thank you for listening. Hopefully, you will listen to those of us who are refugees, and believe that Communism and Socialism are evils that destroy countries, and who believe in promoting excellence rather than excusing mediocrity and blaming the U.S.

I just want to compliment PBS on their obviously increased coverage of black lives matter. I am 91 years old, white and have lived here forever. I am so glad to see more coverage from PBS.

RNC Convention

Feedback:

Could you political coverage of the Republican Convention be any more biased? You're supposed to report the news. You're a taxpayer funded organization, yet you're a mouth for the Democratic scumbag party. All you people are disgusting. It's disgusting to sit her and listen to you. I demand you return all taxpayer funds. You disgusting human beings. You're not even human beings. That would be a compliment. My god you people are sick.

Newshour

New York
Feedback:

I so strongly disagree with comments purporting to find Yamiche Alcindor and others on your team as leftist. She is a reporter who bends over backwards to serve her profession. Judy Woodruff is the epitome of professionalism. I have watched and respected her for at least 30 years. However, the two analysts Amy Walter and Tamara Keith are so cautious that they come across as milktoasts simply repeating the obvious to anyone who has been awake during the day. Give them more rein to speak or find women with more creativity and courage.. I never learn anything new from them nor retain anything quotable.

Republican National Convention coverage

Florida
Feedback:

I chose PBS to watch the Republican National Convention Monday night because I though it would be fair, being publicly funded. I was sadly disappointed. Many of the speeches and films were omitted by PBS. What is worse, the producers chose to cut away from many speeches, using the time to frame each speech in a negative way. Instead of analysis, commentators gave a rebuttal to what had just been said. The result was that PBS viewers were denied many of the strongest speeches of the evening, including Andrew Pollack, father of Meadow who was killed in Parkland, and Georgia Democrat representative Vernon Jones, who gave an impassioned defense of his planned vote for Trump. I conclude that you did not want those messages to be heard. You called Donald Trump, Jr’s speech “angry,” yet some of his warnings were illustrated by your own network: censoring the RNC convention and changing the who tenor, tone, and effectiveness of the presentations. You illustrated the dangers of “cancel culture.”

I have seen an increasing leftist bias at PBS and CPB. The worst part is your use of lies and exaggerations, unchecked by Judy Woodruff or others on the panel. Yamiche Alcindor dishonestly said that Donald Trump said “there were fine people” among the white Nazis at Charlottesville. He never said that. He said there were “fine people on both sides,” referring to those local residents who wanted to preserve their historical statues on the one side, and those who wanted to demonstrate against racism on the other side. There were truly fine people on both sides, and Ms. Alcindor grossly misrepresented this and many others facts. In response, Judy Woodruff praised her skills as a reporter. Needless to say, Ms. Alcindor is not an unbiased news reporter but a political pundit of the worst sort (a liar).

There were many other lies and distortions offered by Woodruff and others on the panel, but the above examples provide representative samples.

I am very unhappy to see my tax dollars going to support leftist ideology as you do in many of your programs. I would never personally support PBS unless it seriously reforms its policies toward neutrality.

Coverage of 2020 Republican National Convention

I chose to watch the PBS coverage because I was hoping it would not be biased. I was mistaken. It was overwhelmingly critical of Trump and biased toward Democrats. So disappointed. Can we trust any media outlet to be fair.

Editorial Concerns

August 27, 2020
Feedback:

I'm calling to give you feedback on your public television reporting. From my opinion, it's completely biased and it has continued to become more and more biased over the years. I am no longer donating in any form to public television. I have donated in the past over the years. I will not be watching. I will not be donating in any way or form because I believe that your reporting is completely biased and its out of control. I would vote for any defunding of public television of my tax dollars as well. I think you guys need to evaluate your programming. Maybe stay from these topics if you can't resist the biased nature of them. I believed in public television being a good service. It helped children and families in the past, but you're completely off the mark. It's being going on for too long. You get a big thumbs down from me and other people that I know. It's becoming more and more evident. You're done.

Communist Indoctrination programming targeting children

New Hampshire
Feedback:

Over the past year PBS has shown its true color...Communist RED. Good old Arthur might as well have “CCP” tattooed on his forehead. That segment on the BLM was the last straw. I find your “Read-Along with PBS Kids” to be particularly OFFENSIVE. It should be called “Communist indoctrination Time with the Commie of the Week”.

This attempted Marxist brainwashing is going to stop. You and your comrads need to take a one way flight to Beijing. Also, take that racist toad Yamiche Alcindor, with you.

I have lots of time and I will be devoting it to contacting every person in DC who has control over PBS funding. I know that I won’t be alone in demanding that all taxpayer funding, of your dirty little Commie indoctrination network ( all 1500+ radio and TV stations), cease immediately. I will contact these people direct since I am absolutely positive that you will not include the comments on this form in any report to the White House, Congress or on the internet.

Note from CPB: Thank you for contacting the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and sharing your concerns about a recent episode of Arthur. CPB provides no funding support for the children’s series Arthur. I think that Judy Woodruff has crossed the line a long time ago! She is obviously a Democrat and Trump Hater! I will not or contribute to watch PBS because of her biased commentary. I think that Judy, Mark Shields and David Brooks all need to retire. . .

Biased coverage of RNC by NPR/newshour

Texas
Feedback:

There should be balanced coverage. I’m tired of the Trump hate train paraded on these publicly funded shows. Most of the reporting only speaks in negative terms regarding Trump and this administration. Any positive news is spoken of with an immediate negative spin that is opinion based on the bias of the reporter or guest panelist. Regardless of political ideology you should have balanced non opinion reporting of the news. You are forcing people that are seeking news of The day or week to go elsewhere for Information. Please stop the biased reporting

I thought this was a 24-hour telephone line. I don't know how much public money is going into public broadcasting, but my father would be 92 years old and he helped build PBS in several states. It is appalling and absurd to watch Judy Woodruff and Yamiche. I'm filing an FOIA request and it's going to the public broadcasting company where I live and its going into Washington DC. You people think you can get away with trying to hide what you are. It's sickening to watch that people put money into public broadcasting. You take people's money and they're so stupid that they don't understand what you are. I am going to get to the bottom of what you people are tying to do. Taking public money and pushing an agenda. Most of it is lies and crap. I will go on any program and I will debate that old windbag Woodruff and the rest of those clowns are all liberals. That is what they are. I will being filing major FOIA requests. If I don't get an answer in thirty days I will be going to my Congressman and my Senator to find out why public money is going to push this agenda of these radical, nutcase, leftwing Democrats.

PBS News Hour

Michigan
Feedback:

Please do not invite the Trump team to speak about Biden. Invite Biden or his people to speak about Kamala and the virus. The Trump team are all going to confront the Democrats and fast talk their about how great the Trump is. Why would you ask THEM about the Democrats?? That only hurts the Bidenteam so please stop inviting them to express their opinions and get free TV time to spew their dislike for the dems and abortion etc. It was a mistake to ask them.

Republucan Convention Coverage

Feedback:

The coverage of the RNC convention is left leaning and intentoinally omitting some of the most effective speakers. Instead we are getting left leaning comentary so as to talk over many American patriots.

I'm petitioning my representatives to cancel all public funding or your organization. The money can be applied to cspan. I'm also asking for hearings of the commentators and management for this gross interference in the election process. What you have done is treasonous and cannot stand. Not with my tax dollars.

The News Hour

Feedback:

The News Hour has become increasingly partisan in tone. Yamiche Alcindor might as well be on MSNBC. Her tweet on Madison Cawthorn was unprofessional and uncalled for. Soooo painful to see NPR devolve into a fake news broadcaster. Sen. & Mrs Rand Paul had their lives threatened after the RNConvention, while they simply tried to walk 2 blocks to their hotel. But NPR called the threats and confrontations "Peaceful Protests" - LIES!!
